Youth Seriously Injured in Speeding Bike Accident in Dharmanagar; Rider Flees

A man was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding motorcycle near Haflong Market in Dharmanagar subdivision. The motorcyclist allegedly fled the scene immediately after the accident, leaving the injured man lying on the roadside.

After receiving information from eyewitnesses, personnel from the Dharmanagar Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot. They rescued the injured man and shifted him to Dharmanagar District Hospital for medical treatment.

According to fire service personnel, the injured person has been identified as Pranab Nath, approximately 30, a resident of East Haflong.

The incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and excessive speeding by motorcycles and other vehicles in Dharmanagar town and its adjoining areas. Questions are being raised over pedestrian safety as high-speed vehicles continue to pose risks to ordinary road users. The motorcyclist's alleged act of fleeing without ensuring medical assistance to the injured victim has also drawn concern.

Local residents have called upon the Dharmanagar Traffic Department to take immediate preventive measures to curb reckless driving. They have demanded stricter enforcement against speeding motorists, regular vehicle checks, heavy fines for traffic violations and appropriate legal action against those found violating road safety regulations.
