The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have demanded the strictest possible action against those accused of attacking Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and vandalising property. On Tuesday, the two organisations separately submitted deputations and memorandums to the Sipahijala district administration, demanding stringent measures against the accused. Their demands also included eliminating the accused in police encounters and demolishing their houses and properties using bulldozers.
The organisations launched the programme in response to the attack on BSF personnel and the vandalism reported in Asharambari under Kalamchoura Police Station. On Tuesday afternoon, representatives of both organisations met Additional District Magistrate of Sipahijala, Debdas Debbarma, and placed their demands before him. Separate memorandums were also submitted to the District Superintendent of Police.
Visiting the office of the Superintendent of Police, the representatives urged the authorities to promptly identify all those involved in the incident and take stringent action against them. They maintained that attacks on personnel of the country's border guarding force required a firm and exemplary response from the administration.
Meanwhile, the strong stance and demands raised by the VHP and Bajrang Dal have triggered fresh discussions in Sipahijala district. Attention is now focused on the response of the district administration and police to the memorandums submitted by the two organisations.
