An unusual incident disrupted the Congress party's nomination rally in Kailashahar ahead of the municipal elections, as two elephants brought to accompany the procession suddenly bolted after being startled by loud DJ music. The incident created a stir in the area.
The two elephants had been brought on Friday to add to the procession as Congress candidates prepared to file their nomination papers for the Kailashahar Municipal Council elections. However, during the rally, the loud DJ music reportedly frightened the animals, causing them to run away from in front of MLA Birajit Sinha's residence towards Goldarpur.
The sudden movement of the elephants caused temporary confusion and panic among those present at the rally.
Following the incident, the Congress party organised its nomination procession without the elephants, and the candidates proceeded to file their nomination papers. What was intended to be an added attraction for the election rally turned into an unexpected episode, drawing considerable attention in Kailashahar.
