Pranay Dey Murder Case: Police Reconstruct Crime Scene With Prime Accused

Agartala:: Police have taken a significant step in the investigation into the murder of Pranay Dey, alias Jun, who was killed in Teliamura on September 17. Following the arrest of the prime accused, Krishnadhan Sarkar, police took him to the crime scene on Sunday and conducted a reconstruction of the incident as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to police sources, after his arrest, Sarkar was produced before the Khowai District Court, which granted three days of police remand. During his custody, he was taken to the spot where the alleged murder took place. There, the accused reportedly demonstrated through his statements and gestures how the incident had unfolded.

Elaborate security arrangements were made as the police took the accused to the location. The reconstruction process was conducted under tight police surveillance. Those present included DCM of the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Administration Jinias Debbarma, investigating officer and Second Officer-in-Charge of Teliamura Police Station, Inspector Bikash Debbarma, Inspector Jugal Tripura, along with other police personnel and a large contingent of Tripura State Rifles (TSR).

The murder of Pranay Dey, alias Jun, had triggered considerable tension in the area following the incident. The arrest of the prime accused and the subsequent crime scene reconstruction have marked important developments in the investigation. However, details of any fresh findings emerging from the exercise have not yet been made public.

The investigation is now expected to focus on establishing the exact circumstances and motive behind the murder, as well as determining whether anyone else was involved in the crime. Residents of Teliamura are awaiting further developments as the police investigation continues.
