Bishalgarh, An attempt to let a minor child ride a motorcycle has landed a parent in trouble, with the Bishalgarh Traffic Unit imposing a fine of Rs 25,000 for violation of traffic regulations. The action followed the detention of a minor found riding a motorcycle during a traffic enforcement drive.
According to reports, the minor was intercepted while riding a motorcycle during an operation conducted by Bishalgarh traffic personnel in the Dewan Bazar area of Bishramganj. Subsequently, action was initiated against the child's parent under the relevant traffic regulations, and a fine of Rs 25,000 was imposed.
The Traffic Unit has emphasised that allowing minors to drive motor vehicles is not only a violation of the law but also poses a serious threat to their safety and that of other road users. It pointed out that, due to parental negligence or excessive indulgence, young children are often allowed to take motorcycles, scooters and other motor vehicles onto public roads. However, their limited understanding of road safety and lack of the maturity required to drive can turn even a minor lapse in judgement into a serious accident.
The Bishalgarh Traffic Unit has issued a warning to parents across the state, urging them not to hand over motorcycles, scooters or any other motor vehicles to underage children under any circumstances. It has also cautioned that strict legal action will be taken against parents if similar violations are detected in the future.
The incident has once again highlighted the responsibility of parents in ensuring their children's safety. Allowing minors to operate motor vehicles in the name of affection or indulgence can put not only their lives but also those of others at risk. Through this enforcement action, the Bishalgarh Traffic Unit has sought to reinforce the message that parents must act responsibly and keep motor vehicle keys out of the hands of underage children.
