On Saturday, local MLA and Mayor Deepak Majumder visited the site after receiving news of the incident. Expressing solidarity with the affected family, he provided financial assistance of Rs 50,000 from his personal resources. In addition, the family had received government assistance of Rs 10,000 on Friday.
During his visit, Majumder spoke with the affected family and assured them that steps would be taken to help them secure a new house under a government assistance scheme. His financial support and assurance of further assistance are expected to provide some relief to the family as it struggles to recover from the loss.
