BJP Set for Unopposed Victory in Santirbazar, Fields Candidates in All 15 Wards
BJP is poised for an unopposed victory, subject to scrutiny of the nominations and completion of the prescribed electoral formalities.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has completed the process of fielding candidates in all 15 wards of the Santirbazar Municipal Council. With no other political party submitting nomination papers from any of the wards, the BJP is poised for an unopposed victory, subject to scrutiny of the nominations and completion of the prescribed electoral formalities.
Ten BJP candidates filed their nomination papers on Thursday, while the remaining five submitted their papers on Friday, completing the party's candidate list for all 15 wards. The absence of nominations from any rival party has left the civic poll contest in Santirbazar without an opposing candidate at this stage.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate has also issued a response on the matter. However, the final position regarding an unopposed victory will be determined only after the scrutiny of nomination papers and completion of the remaining electoral procedures.
Those present during Friday's nomination filing programme included Pramod Reang, MLA of the 36-Santirbazar Assembly constituency; Santirbazar Mandal president Debashish Bhowmik; Yuva Morcha Mandal president Anju Mog Chowdhury; and former Santirbazar Mandal general secretary Mambu Mog.
